  • FedEx — Shares of the shipping company jumped more than 8% in extended trading after beating on the top and bottom lines of its stellar quarterly results. FedEx reported earnings of $4.87 per share on revenue of $19.32 billion. Analysts polled by Refinitiv expected earnings of $2.69 per share on revenue of $17.55 billion. A key metric for the company, margin, came in 2% higher than last year. FedEx did not provide any forward-looking guidance. Shares of UPS also ticked higher after hours on hopes the e-commerce boom is also benefiting its business.

Needham lifted the price target on Apple Inc. (AAPL) from $112.5 to $140. Apple shares fell 0.3% to $115.20 in pre-market trading.
Piper Sandler raised the price target for Adobe Inc (ADBE) from $430 to $570. Adobe shares rose 2.1% to $508.00 in pre-market trading.
Wells Fargo boosted the price target for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (CBRL) from $116 to $132. Cracker Barrel shares rose 0.1% to $131.25 in pre-market trading.

  • The U.S. central bank kept interest rates near zero. Members of the Fed's policymaking committee also indicated the overnight rate could stay near zero through 2023. "With inflation running persistently below this longer run goal, the Committee will aim to achieve inflation moderately above 2 percent for some time so that inflation averages 2% over time," the Federal Open Market Committee said in a statement. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell reiterated the central bank's approach, telling reporters in a news conference: "We expect to maintain an accommodative stance of monetary policy until these outcomes, including maximum employment, are achieved."

  • Johnson & Johnson — Shares of the pharmaceutical giant dropped more than 2% after the company paused its coronavirus vaccine trail due to an “adverse event” in a participant. “We’re letting safety protocol follow proper procedure here,” CFO Joseph Wolk told CNBC. “What it should also do is reassure the public that every scientific, medical and ethical standard is being applied here.”

  • Ethan Allen — Shares of the furniture company surged more than 12% after reporting preliminary fiscal first quarter results of 34 to 36 cents per share, compared to the Refinitiv estimate of 2 cents per share. Revenue also topped estimates, coming in at $151.1 million.
